San Bartolo Natural Park

A natural oasis just a few minutes from Riccione
The Monte San Bartolo Nature Park was established in 1994 and became fully operational in May 1997. The protected area has an extension of about 1600 hectares and includes a very interesting area both from the naturalistic and historical-cultural point of view

Characteristics of the park

The San Bartolo Natural Park emerges from the low beaches of Romagna in the Marche region as a succession of undulating spurs and valleys that slope down to the sea, here and there interspersed with sheer walls supported by a stratification in horizontal position or support

The alternation of sand banks, marls and clays, when not supported by the position, slopes more gently towards the sea and mixes with the ancient landslides that dot the cliff.

The altitude of the peaks such as Monte Castellaro or Monte Brisighella reaches almost 200 meters, but allows a wide view of the coast and the sea and the cliffs overhanging the Park are an unusual marine landscape for our sandy coasts
