The historical Romagna Riviera

Already at the beginning of the twentieth century, the first Italian and foreign tourists immediately realized the beauty of the hinterland of Romagna, its rolling hills covered with olive groves and vineyards and the excellent cuisine that comes with it

Those first tourists, despite the little infrastructure and the difficulty of transport, with a bit of spirit of adventure, found everything that history had left us: Roman ruins, imposing castles and beautiful medieval villages with beautiful works of art

Today, all this has remained intact, even if it is highlighted or little known to those tourists who continue to feed on the roar of nightlife or clubs, pizzerias and restaurants on the sea

The Romagna hinterland

The castles and villages are waiting for you to welcome you with the trattorias and farmhouses that enrich this surprising offer

A few km from the beach you will still find intact the fortresses of Verucchio, San Leo, Gradara, Montefiore, Montebello and Torriana, San Marino the oldest and smallest Republic in the world, Mondaino, Santarcangelo di Romagna, Saludecio, Montegridolfo and many others

In addition, there is also the splendid Roman Rimini with the Arch of Augustus, the Tiberius Bridge, the amphitheatre and the Surgeon's House. In Rimini you will still find the Fellini Museum, the Malatesta Temple, the Church of Sant'Agostino, the ancient squares and the old fish market, Borgo San Giuliano and much more

Oasis and nature in Romagna

In addition, do not forget the natural and wildlife oases of the area: first of all the Natural Park of San Bartolo, a beautiful view of the sea with beaches and unspoiled hills, incredible villages such as Fiorenzuola di Focara.

Or the nature reserve of the caves of Onferno or that of Sasso Simone Simoncello and much more

In these places you will find country trattorias with traditional home cooking with typical local products: the best oil in Italy, the tastiest cold cuts, the amazing Sangiovese wine, homemade piadina, the tasty cheeses aged in the pits, tagliatelle made by grandmother with meat sauce on the tip of a knife, the "caplet" in broth and many other delicacies
